Sketchabilities #112 Reveal~

Today I am loving the fact that it is time for another Sketchabilities Design Team Reveal.
I love to take a look at what the other so very talented designers have done with the sketch, everyone making it their own.
So here is my layout based on Sketch #112.

I really enjoyed working with all the little details this time around in Karan's sketch.

I chose to work with one of my favourites for Sketch #112, Teresa Collins Designs.
I used the You Are My Happy Collection with it's hints of gold.

I used Chocolate Brown Liquid Pearls along with Teresa Collins' coordinating stickers and embellishments.

I created my title using a combination of coordinating stickers and die cuts.

Thank you so ver much for stopping by to check out my reveal for Sketchabilities #112.
I hope this time around you take the challenge, I would love to see what you create!

Spring Crop Hopping~

I look forward to Spring for so many reasons.
Nicer, warmer weather and the grass getting greener.
Less stress for travelling.
Hopping from Crop to Crop and teaching what I love.

This is a layout that I will be teaching at 2 upcoming crops.
The first will be The Crop for the Cure, here in Sydney.
(April 11-13)
The second is the Scrapbooking Cafe Crop in Truro.
(May 9-11)

I used The Avenues collection from Bo Bunny for this layout.

Thanks for stopping by to get a closer look at this upcoming class sample.

Hello My Name Is~

Back on the blog with another fabulous Teresa Collins collection, called Hello My Name Is.
The moment I saw this collection I knew exactly what layout I wanted to create. Our poor, sweet and crazy pooch gets called so many different names in the run of a day. Luckily she answers to them all!

So I decided to use all those cute little "Hello My Name Is" tags to help document some of Kya's nicknames.

I love the simple colour scheme of this collection. It ends up making it so easy to coordinate with so many different styles of photos.

I used a combination of coordinating letter stickers and my own hand writing for all of the names.

I also adore the coordinating gem stickers with this collection.

Take a peek at the little wooden dot embellishments, so cute! They are by My Mind's Eye.

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my layout dedicated to our pooch!

Thank You & a "Gift" Card~

Welcome, today I am sharing a card that I created recently for a purpose.
Have you ever needed a card, but wanted to give just a little something extra along with it?
Well this is the card for you!

From the outside it looks like any other card really. I created it using the Fancy Pants Collection called Happy-Go-Lucky. Bright, fun and cheerful.

But on the inside you'll see it holds a little something extra for that person that you are thankful for.

The pockets are created from patterned paper, and embellished with buttons from Buttons Galore & More. I chose a variety of MY favourite teas that I had on hand that come individually packed, and then popped in an instant Starbucks pack.

A little hint for creating your own pocket card. When you cut the cardstock for the card itself, make sure you accommodate for the extra thickness of what you are putting in the pockets. I added 1/4" to the middle, like a book cover.

Some other ideas of what you could slip into the mini pockets would be:
Chocolates
Gift Cards
Photos
Money

Thanks for stopping by today to take a peek at my Thank You & a "Gift" Card.

A Useful DIY Gift~

I must say, I am a huge fan of gifting something that people could use on a day to day basis.
For me "the List Maker", that gift would be a pretty note pad. I have 3 or 4 note pads and books on the go at once, each with a different purpose.

These little notebooks were made as gifts to people I knew also loved to make lists.

I started with 4x5 Post-It brand note pads. I cut the card stock accordingly, just a little bit bigger than the pads. Leaving a little space in the middle to fold like a book.

I chose papers according to the person I was giving it to, and just tried to simply dress up the front covers in my same scrapbooking style.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you give something a little crafty this year!

Teacher Appreciation Craft Lightning~

I am so happy to be back and a part of this month's 15 Minute Craft Lightning.
A big Thank You to The Country Chic Cottage and 30 Minute Crafts for inviting me to craft along with them again.
This month's theme is Teacher Appreciation.

How many times have you struggled with gift ideas for that special teacher, coach or instructor?
Well it is our mission to help you out, with lots of crafty ideas that will take you no time to create.
My project is a simple 6x6 Card with a Treat.

I used scraps of the Happy-Go-Lucky collection by Fancy Pants, a button, some string and a yummy Caramilk chocolate bar. I simply wrapped the bar with patterned paper, so that it could easily slide out and be consumed by that special teacher of yours.
Then I added some simple embellishments tucked into a mini envelope that I cut out using a template.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope this year, you will create a little something for that special educator in your, or your children's life.

Hopeful for Spring~

Today again, I am ever hopeful for more signs of Spring and all the changes that it will bring.
We were away last week for our March Break, visiting family and friends and having some much needed down time. Now today we are getting back into the swing of things.
Today's post is a mix of a few things. A couple of announcements, a little scrappy inspiration and a few changes to the blog itself.

First of all, the streak continues and I am so very lucky to be sending off 3 more projects to Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine to be published in the Summer 2014 issue. So be sure to check it out!

During our week away, I went to an all day crop at The Cutting Garden and had such a fabulous day surrounded by some very funny ladies! I cannot remember the last time I laughed that much. We did a lot of visiting and catching up...however that led to me not getting very much done at all. These are the 2 layouts I created in 9 hours.

I brought this photo with me, knowing that I would be picking up the papers at The Cutting Garden, I  was just at a loss as to what to do with the one and only photo I had from Sean's trip to Florida with his school's band last year.
I chose to use patterned papers from a couple of Graphic 45 collections, and chipboard gears by Want 2 Scrap. I painted the gears gold using Distress Paint by Tim Holtz. I added some other metal embellishments that I picked up at the store.

The second layout was created using patterned papers and embellishments from Crate Paper's Maggie Holme's Collection.

I love the coordinating little bows!

The buttons of course are from Buttons Galore & More.

My last little bit to share today is the fabulous news I got just the other day.
I am officially a part of the Curtsey Boutique design team.
I am so very excited to start designing using their beautiful hand crafted products!
Be sure to Like them out on Facebook here, and tell them Tracy sent you:

I chose some of my favourite summer adventure photos for this layout, longing for Spring and Summer to finally be here.

I love the mix of shapes and layers in this sketch!

I chose to work with patterned papers and coordinating embellishments from the Now & Then, Izzy Collection from My Mind's Eye. I am LOVING this beautiful, vibrant collection.

Collecting Moments~

Today I am showcasing a layout that I created using the Collecting Moments Collection by Fancy Pants. This is a collection that came to me through Scrap Shotz, a monthly kit club. Initially it is definitely not colours I would normally pick out and buy for myself. But in the end, I have used up the entire collection, and had a ton of photos that coordinated with it perfectly....who knew??

I wanted this layout to be layer after layer of colour and texture. I adore Fancy Pants' corrugated cardboard that coordinates with each collection.
I also used lots of their coordinating die cuts and stickers from the Collecting Moments Collection.

They also love these sweet coordinating flowers.

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my layout!
