Let's Get Sketchy Christmas Layout~

The challenge blog Let's Get Sketchy has a bonus challenge this month to create a Christmas layout for the chance to be their cover layout for the holiday issue. I decided to take that challenge, as I have a love of the holidays which in turn leads to a huge collection of holiday photos and crafting supplies.

My layout is created using an older Authentique holiday collection.

This is the sketch that I based my layout on.

The Believe sticker is one that I have had for years by K&Company.

The poinsettia is a Jolee's By You from EK Success.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are warming up to this Holiday Season.

Buttons & Clay Tiny Ornament Blog Hop~

Welcome to your next or perhaps first stop in the Buttons Galore & More and Sculpey Little Ornament Blog Hop.
I cannot even tell you how much I have enjoyed working with Sculpey Clay and all their fantastic tools that makes creating so much easier! I have not played with clay this much since I was in elementary school.

My Bashful Elf is the ornament I chose to showcase in this blog hop. I've really enjoyed creating sweet little whimsical characters with Sculpey clay.

My Bashful Elf is hiding behind a good sized red Laura Kelly button from Buttons Galore & More.

Why is the Bashful Elf hiding behind the big red button?

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope we've inspired you to get the clay and buttons out and get crafty this holiday season.

Happy Harvest #3~

This is my third reveal for Down a Dirt Road Scrapbooking with November's kit by Doodlebug Designs. The collection is called Happy Harvest, and the vibrant fun colors definitely reflect that.

The buttons are from Buttons Galore & More of course.

I also created this adorable 6x6 birthday card for a special little guy in my life. His birthday is months away, but I'm prepared with my card!

I used Chocolate Brown Liquid Pearls as an accent.

Anything Goes~

This time around at Use It Tuesday, the theme is Anything Goes. That opened up endless possibilities.
So I went upstairs to my stash of goodies and went through my bin of paper.
I found these sweet patterned papers that I have had for about 4 years. I bought the baby boy and baby girl patterns from the same manufacturer when a friend was pregnant with their first child. They were not finding out what they were having, so I HAD to be prepared. Turns out they had a little girl, and those papers got used. But the baby boy patterns just got filed away.

The red ribbon also went into my stash at least a couple of years ago.

I used my stapler to attach the ribbons.

Head on over to Use It Tuesday and take the challenge, ANYTHING GOES!

Sculpey Sock Monkey Ornament~

I have been playing with clay these days. I have loved creating with Sculpey, a product partner of Buttons Galore & More
Today I'm sharing a little guy that I created for myself. I have had a soft spot for monkeys for YEARS. I have quite a collection already, and decided to create another to add to it.

I got the inspiration for this little guy on Pinterest. Someone else had created a sock monkey inside a pumpkin. I decided to make him a little festive for the holidays.

Thanks for stopping by. Maybe one day soon, you too can get out the clay from Sculpey and revert back to your own childhood and get creative!

Sketchabilities #103~

I was excited to work with this week's sketch at Sketchabilities. I wanted to switch it up a bit and use a Valentine's Collection from last year with a Christmas photo.

This is the sketch that I worked from.

I dug through some older embellishments as well. I found some old Martha Stewart Crafts flower stickers, another set of sticker embellishments and some gem stickers from Prima.
The buttons are of course from Buttons Galore & More.

You should take the challenge too and stop by Sketchabilities. Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Averie~

A simple layout share today for you. This is a layout that I created back in October, Thanksgiving weekend to be exact. But it got lost in the shuffle of blog posts to create.

Once again I must say I loved working with my least used color, purple.
The patterned papers I have had for YEARS, an old My Mind's Eye Collection that I bought at the Cutting Garden 2 locations ago.

To create this star burst look, I found it easiest to create templates for the pieces. Then apply them to each separate pattern.

I added some beautiful flowers and some purple pearls for accents.

Memories of Summer~

After the first few flurries falling the last few days, I have been longing for summer. So I thought I would share a couple of layouts I created using photos from summer 2013.

This fun and summery layout is created using The Pier Collection, by Crate Paper.

The second layout was created using the Well Travelled Collection, by Carta Bella.
It was as if the colors of the collection were made for  these photos that I took of the girls while at The Museum of Civilization.

The buttons on both layouts are from Buttons Galore & More.

Both collections are available at The Cutting Garden.

Simple Gifts: Kitchen Traditions~

In a time where some of the true arts are being lost, and not being passed to our younger generations; fight to keep traditions alive and thriving. There is still time to give the gift of your Family Traditions.
In this case I am showing a way to give the simple gift of Family Recipes. Everyone has an aunt that makes the best biscuits, or your Mom makes the most delicious lasagna.

So I encourage you to hand write those recipes on cards, like we used to years ago. Wrap them up with  a piece of pretty ribbon and a tag embellished  with an adorable holiday button.

Holiday Buttons are from Buttons Galore & More.

Keep the art of cooking and baking alive, pass it along to the ones you love.
Thank you for stopping by and taking a peek at this Simple Gift.

15 Minute Holiday Crafting~

Welcome to your first or next stop during this 15 Minute Holiday Crafts Blog Hop. A big Thank You to The Country Chic Cottage and 30 Minute Crafts for hosting this hop and inviting me to participate.

Here is my 15 Minute Holiday Craft.
Simple Candle Holder and Napkin Ring Embellishments.

They are just this easy to create. You take your Holiday Gift Buttons from Buttons Galore & More, and you string it on a nice wide piece of ribbon. Then you simply wrap the ribbon around the candle holder or napkin ring and adhere in the back using a Mini Glue Dot.
A quick and beautiful way to dress up any holiday table.

Thank you for stopping by and hope we inspired you to do some quick holiday crafting of your own.
